No slouch in any musical department, D’Julz is a much-respected techno DJ/producer/promoter, the kind that gives Paris a good name thanks to his long residency at Rex. Now coming with a compilation of his label’s finest moments over the past four years, including three unreleased tracks from Cassy & D’Julz, Mr Tophat & Art Alfie and Chris Simmonds, this is the kind of super-percussive compilation that will keep Phonica busy over the chilly winter months. Stand-outs include the deft opener Kasper ‘Jaia’ (Fred P remix), the Tensnake-endorsed ‘Rules Of Love’ by Joel Altar and a brilliant collab with Cassy called ‘What U See In Me’. Deep, dark, smoky and hypnotic, Paris is still burning.
